Looking southeast from the southeast shore of Providenciales. This is the site of a housing development which, thus far, consists of dirt road, cactus, and one house. This photo was shot on the site of the second home, which is just now (February 1998) getting underway. Shows the typical Provo vegetation -- about 2 to 3 foot high cactus and scrub. This is typical of all of the Caribbean "desert" islands such as Aruba, Curacao, Provo, and many others. The utility lines running to the homesite from the road. The island is mostly limestone, so digging a ditch like this is a huge undertaking. Near sunset on the north shore of Provo. This picture shows the typically overcrowded, tourist-infested Providenciales beaches.
An egret wandering around the grounds of the Ocean Club, an upscale condo/hotel on the northeast shore of Provo, about 8 miles from the site of the VP5FXB station. Hard to see here, but the egret is in the center of the photo, trying to look nonchalant as he plucks an occasional gecko out of the shrubbery. Lunchtime by the pool for the egret.
RIGHT: What was left of W0CG's last iced tea (really) by the pool on the last day on Provo: lime, sugar, ice, and sunshine.
