Subject: Curacao Ship Questions

Louise,

I got your name and information from my friend Bob Kuhnle, who has called
you about this shipment.

I want to ship a half-container from Miami to Curacao on Thursday, April
26. The cargo will be mostly radio antennas and tower sections.

Our questions:

1. Is it correct that the half-container space is 10 x 10 x 10 at a flat
rate of $2780?

THE SPACE ALOTTED IS 950 CUBIC FEET, 25000 LBS, REGARDLESS OF ACTUAL
DIMENSIONS. IT JUST HAS TO BE ABLE TO FIT INSIDE A 40' CONTAINER. THE COST
TO SHIP IS AS FOLLOWS:

OCEAN FREIGHT            $2450.00
BUNKER                 237.50
CPA                     142.50
DOCUMENTATION            40.00
BLPC                     25.00
TOTAL CHARGES            $2890.00

2. If we have any pieces longer than 10 ft (there may be some pipes 12 feet
long) will these be permitted in the container, even if they go outside the
10 x 10 x 10 space?

BECAUSE OF THE WAY WE ALOT SPACE, YOU CAN SHIP PIECES UPTO 19' LONG.

3. Can we drop off the cargo on Monday morning, April 23? Can we drop it
sooner, like on Friday or Saturday?

CARGO CAN BE DROPPED OFF ANYTIME PRIOR TO LOADING AS LONG AS IT IS BEFORE
OUR CUT OFF. THE CUT OFF FOR ANY WEEKLY SAILING IS WEDNESDAY BEFORE NOON FOR
CARGO AND INVOICES.

4. Will you want us to load the container ourselves or not?

WE LOAD ALL CONTAINERS USING OUR EMPLOYEES.

5. What are the additional charges for paperwork, and what paperwork will
you require?

THE CHARGES LISTED ABOVE INCLUDE EVERYTHING UPTO CURACAO. WE WILL NEED
INVOIES FOR ALL CARGO SHIPPED.

6. How is the duty handled on arrival in Curacao? Do we prepay you for that
duty, or do you bill us later? I have a bank account on Curacao and can
transfer money to your on-island account quickly if that is possible.

THE CLEARING AND COLLECTION OF ALL CHARGES DUE ARE HANDLED BY OUR AGENT,
CARIBBEAN CARGO SERVICES. OUR CHARGES AND THEIRS CAN BE PAID IN CURACAO.

7. What will be the charges for on-island delivery from the port to my
house on Curacao, which is at Santa Marta Bay, about 20 miles away. (I will
be on Curacao to receive the shipment at the house.)

DELIVERY CHARGES WOULD HAVE TO BE CONFIRMED WITH OUR CURACAO AGENT. YOU CAN
CONTACT THEM DIRECTLY FOR EXCACT COSTS IN CLEARING, DELIVERY & DUTIES.
CONTACT CARIBBEAN CARGO SERVICES VIA E-MAIL: SHIPPING@CCS.AN

8. Do you have arrangements with any stateside shippers to pick up the
shipment and take it to Miami? It would be from Wooster, Ohio, to your
receiving point in Miami. Is it possible for you to get us a quote on the
stateside portion of the shipment so we can determine if it would be cheaper
than doing it ourselves?

WE DON'T HAVE ANY COMPANIES THAT "PICK UP" IN THE U.S. OTHER THAN LOCAL
DELIVERIES. HOWEVER, WE DO RECOMMEND A COMPANY CALLED ESTES EXPRESS. WE CAN
OBTAIN A QUOTE FOR YOU. I WOULD REQUIRE THE ZIP CODE, THE PIECES AND WEIGHT
OF THE SHIPMENT AS WELL AS THE CLASS NUMBER IF THE SHIPPER HAS IT.

I can call you if that would be an easier way for you to answer all these
questions. OK? Let me know by e-mail? My phone is 330 628-5707.

MY E-MAIL IS OPEN WHILE I AM IN THE OFFICE, WHICH IS NORMALLY FROM 7:30 -
4:30 DAILY. I ANSWER ALL MY E-MAILS AS RECEIVED (EVEN IF IT JUST TO LET YOU
KNOW THAT I'M WORKING ON YOUR RESPONSE) SO WE CAN COMMUNICATE EASILY VIA
E-MAIL. WHICHEVER YOU PREFER IS FINE.

THANKS!!!!!!!!!

IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK. - LOUISE

GOOD AFTERNOON GEOFF,

FOLLOWING IS THE INFORMATION YOU REQUESTED:

>is a dropoff on Sunday, April 22 OK?

WE ARE NOT OPEN ON SATURDAYS OR SUNDAYS. SORRY. OUR WORKING HOURS ARE MONDAY
THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 7:30 AM TO 4:30 PM.

==================================================

>OK, so do I understand correctly that the entire cost can be paid by a
transfer from my Curacao bank account to Caribbean Cargo Services when the
shipment has cleared Customs on Curacao? AMCAR needs no up-front payment?

THAT IS CORRECT. WE HAVE YOUR CARGO. NO PRE-PAYMENT IS REQUIRED.

==================================================

>Yes, could you obtain an Estes quote for us? It will be from 44691 to your
dock. Approximately 900 cubic feet and 4000 lb, in about 40 pieces. I don't
know the shipping class, but it will be a mix of 10 foot long steel sections
of antenna tower and many cardboard boxes containing rope and cable for
antennas.

I SPOKE WITH ESTES THEY ARE REQUESTING THE VALUE FOR THE SHIPMENT IN ORDER
TO GIVE US A QUOTE. IN THE MEANTIME I HAVE REQUESTED ANOTHER RATE QUOTE FROM
A COMPANY CALLED FTS. THEY ARE GOING TO QUOTE US ON 20' OF SPACE IN A TRUCK
WHICH IS ABOUT 900 CUBIC FEET.

===================================================

>Do I need a reservation with you for a half-container to Curacao, sailing
on Thursday, 26 April?

NO RESERVATION IS REQUIRED, HOWEVER, I NEED THE CARGO TO BE HERE NO LATER
THAN TUESDAY THE 24TH BY 4:30 PM. ALSO NOTE THAT THE TRUCKING COMPANY IS
TELLING ME THAT IN ORDER FOR US TO SECURE THE BEST RATE, WE NEED TO BE
FLEXIBLE ON THE PICK UP. BY WHAT DATE DO YOU NEED THE EQUIPMENT IN CURACAO?
IS THIS URGENT FOR THE 26TH OR DO WE HAVE TIME TO BARGAIN?

===================================================

REGARDS,

LOUISE =)
