History

Acquired April 2005 by W8TK in Arizona. Shipped to Indianapolis with new Cabbage Case April 2005.

Transported to PJ2 by K9SG. 

9 Sept 2005

Verified INRAD roofing filter is installed (W0CG).

27 October 2006

Installed from closet to Station # 1 for CQWW SSB 2006 when the MP (1) at this station developed a partly deaf receiver. Worked perfectly for the contest.

October 2008

Main RX dead at CQWW SSB. Brought to States by W1MD and shipped to WA4GEG.

November 2008

Returned to Curacao by K8MR. (No duty.) Tests fine at Station # 2. Click here for service invoice from WA4GEG. Minor board corrosion was found. Put in service at Station 2 16 Dec 2008.

Tested good. Bagged in Ziploc bag with desiccant.

29 March 2010

Got out of closet and put at Station # 1. Display went dead after half a day of operating. K8LEE will take it to Jerry tomorrow.

April 2010

Repaired by K8LEE's friend Jerry, burn-in tested by K8LEE. Awaiting transport from K8LEE to Curacao.

February 2011

K8LEE returned to Curacao. Operational test OK.

23 March 2011

Radio is hanging deaf after some transmissions. Comes back eventually.

11 February 2013

Discovered low RF output. Only about 20 watts on 160 and 80, about 50 watts on all 40, 20, 15, 10. Need to troubleshoot further.

5 March 2013

K8LEE and K6AM performed XCVR triage of all radios. Found that this XCVR had low RF output.

7 March 2013

After K6AM and K8LEE verified low RF out (30 watts on 160 and 80), 70 watts on 20) and low RX sensitivity (-10 dB 80, -6 dB 40, 20 OK, -10 dB 15, 10 OK), K8LEE took XCVR this date to U.S. for Jerry to evaluate and repair if possible.

May 2013

Repaired by Jerry and returned to K8LEE for burn in testing. All appears to be working OK. Cost was about $375.

1 July 2013

K8LEE will ship to W8AV for inclusion in the August ocean shipment to Curacao.

17 September 2013

Placed in service at Station 3.

14 November 2013

RF Output on 21 MHz 50 watts max. Other bands not checked.

9 December 2015

Taken out of closet bag and put in service at Station 3. All seems OK.

27 October 2016

Took out of closet and put into service at Station 5 on 80. Hangs in transmit.

6 December 2016

Only 15 meters has full output. All other bands only about 20 watts. Awaiting permanent return to States.

15 December 2016

Transported to Idaho by W0CG. End of this transceiver's CCC service. Needs to be repaired and then sold.

25 July 2017

Shipped Fed Ex to N7IR for repair and salvage.

November 2017

Sold in Arizona by N7IR for $500.
